‘Unwound’ author to sign book

Jonesborough author Barry Blair will sign copies of his novel, Unwound, at Mauk’s of Jonesborough during the National Storytelling Festival on Friday, Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A large part of Blair’s novel takes place in Jonesborough. It centers around Skip Bailey, a Major League Baseball player who makes his home in Tennessee’s oldest town.

The book starts off with a World Series match-up between the New York Yankees and the Pittsburgh Pirates. As Bailey returns to East Tennessee for the offseason, his carefully laid out plans for life start to come apart. Soon, readers learn everything in Bailey’s life is not as it seems. What follows is a trail of deceit, murders, money laundering and a major international incident.

Blair’s book was recently placed in the library at The Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y. It is available as an e-book on Amazon Kindle or can be purchased from the website
