Quilt show in Kingsport

Quilters and quilt enthusiasts will gather for a quilt show at the Netherland Inn in Kingsport on Oct. 5-7.

The show will feature special activities and demonstrations as well as tours of the historical site, which was both a stage coach stop and boatyard. Information on Downtown Kingsport’s Quilt Trail will also be available.

There will be live music on Saturday and Sunday and homestyle food favorites all weekend, including soup beans, potato soup, cornbread, hot dogs and fixins.

Admission is $5. Students under 10 are free with an accompanying adult. On Friday, Oct. 5, the show will run from noon-5 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 6, the hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, Oct. 7, the show will take place from 1-5 p.m.

The public is invited to participate in the show by bringing homemade bed quilts — hand quilted or machine quilted — contemporary or antique quilts, baby or crib quilts, wall hangings and lap quilts. To participate, bring quilts to the Inn on Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or from 5-7 p.m.
