Kindergarten signups take place Aug. 2

Personnel with the Washington County Department of Education will register children entering kindergarten in any Washington County school for the 2012-2013 school year.

Registration and screening will be Thursday, Aug. 2, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Midway Center, 3519 West Walnut St., Johnson City.

Call 434-4923 for an appointment. Registration is for those children who did not register in the spring.

The child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 30, 2012. Bring the following information: Child’s official birth certificate, Social Security card, physical exam/immunization form, and proof of residence address.
