Appalachian Heritage Fair set for June in Limestone

On June 9-10, Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park in Limestone will be hosting its 7th Annual “Appalachian Heritage Fair” event.

The event showcases local artisans and the traditional style of homemade arts and crafts.

There will also be a food vendor and traditional Appalachian music for visitors to enjoy while they peruse the crafts as well as a tractor show this year for all those tractor enthusiast.

Many crafters will be demonstrating their talents, which include spinning fiber, basketry, woodworking/carving and pottery.

The replica of Crockett’s cabin will be open for visitors to walk through and local reenactors will be on hand to talk with visitors about Crockett and the ways of our ancestors.

The free event takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, and from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 10.
