Story published: 05-29-2012 Print Article E-mail Story to a Friend Blair Concert Choir to present free concert The Blair Concert Choir will present a free concert at the Jonesborough Visitors Center on Monday, June 4, at 7 p.m.The Concert Choir, comprised of high school girls in grades 8-12, is one of six groups that make up the Blair Children’s Chorus. The choral program was established as part of the pre-college division of Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University in 1988. BCC has a distinguished history of sharing the love of music with hundreds of children, developing fine musicians and offering quality concerts. The program is classically based, with strong emphasis on healthy vocal production, music reading skills and performance. Blair Children’s Chorus graduates have earned music scholarships at some of the nation’s finest universities. Members have also sung with the Nashville Symphony, the Boston Camerata, with internationally acclaimed conductors, at museums and churches in Nashville, and at the Blair School of Music. The event will feature the music of Vivaldi, Bach, Handel and spirituals. |
