Town hosting night walk to raise awareness

The Chiari and Syringomyelia Foundation is hosting walks across America for the first year, including one in Jonesborough.

The unite@night walk is dedicated to bringing people together for awareness as well as fundraising.

This walk will bring together people who are suffering with the devastating effects of Chiari brain malformation, Syringomyelia, Ehlers-Danlos, Hydrocephalus, Intracranial hypertension, Dysautonomia, Autism, and related disorders.

Unite@night will support Chiari & Syringomyelia Foundation chapters to provide education and increase awareness while funding research projects that can potentially find answers to help those fighting these disorders.

The unite@night Walk for the Chiari and Syringomyelia Foundation will be held at Persimmon Ridge Park on Saturday, June 2, from 7-9 p.m.Walking is free; however those donating $25 will receive a free balloon and a donation of $50 will earn a balloon and t-shirt.

The Town of Jonesborough is hosting the walk. Local resident Donna Renfro is the walk administrator.
